My motivation is to learn as many languages as I possibly can. It is a matter of personal achievement for me. And one I am trying to succeed in, even if it is hard at first.

It is the same for me. Hungarian and Romanian are two completely different languages, but I can somehow completely switch from one to the other without effort. For example, I talk to my family on the phone in Hungarian, while my Romanian friends are over for a get together, and after hanging up, I switch back to Romanian without effort. I think it is a matter of how used you are to languages that you are speaking.

You can definitely understand the action and general plot of a movie, even if you don`t understand the language, but I don`t really like watching movies like that, because I loose you on certain plot points and don`t get the full experience.

I always put any achievement into my CV, regardless if I actually got a diploma or not. Most jobs that require you to know a certain language make you undergo a test, anyway, before you get hired.

My handwriting does not change either, regardless in which language I write. I think your handwriting is a completely different aspect from how many languages you can speak, it always remains the same.

Fascination is a big factor for me in trying to learn different languages. And also, the more languages you know, the more you are able to communicate with different cultures. And that was a big factor for me.

I think getting frustrated with the hard parts of a certain language are the biggest problems anyone faces. But you just have to stick with it and you will eventually get through it for sure.

I always wanted to learn a type of Asian language. Be it Korean, Chinese or Japanese. I will definitely check your site out. Thanks for sharing this.

Transcription can surely be used as a way to learn a new language, but I think it is not the most efficient way to doing it. Also, it can be quite hard to transcribe something you don`t initially understand.

You need a bit of tact for that. And also, try to never come of as arrogant when doing it. Just politely correct the person with a nice tone and attitude.

I think it would make things easier and erase some hurdles globally, but having many different languages is what defines ourselves culturally. And also, if there would be only one language, you would loose the fun of learning a new one, right?

Most definitely. The more languages you know, the more you can communicate with people. Never stop learning languages, in my opinion.

There are a couple of good phone apps that you can use to learn the basics of certain languages. Especially on android.

It does not really change for me. If the song is good and you like the music, it does not matter what language it is sung in, in my opinion.

I totally agree with you. Name calling is just rude, no matter if it is done out of a joke or not. And that is especially true for someone struggling to speak an unfamiliar language, because it may make you loose confidence in yourself and may make you think that you are not really good at what you are trying to do.

For me it was the love for new languages and curiosity as well. I really enjoy communicating with people, and breaking the language barrier by learning new languages was the way to go for me.

We have the same type of raps in my country. But I would not advice anyone trying to learn a language from this kind of music, because most rap artists use heavy slang in their lyrics which is not really widely used.

Starting to read a book in a foreign language that you planning to learn, is a good way to get a good grasp on the language. Whenever you encounter a word you don`t understand, just look it up online or use an app. It will stick with you and you just learned a new word in said language.

I would always recommend English for anyone looking to learn a new language. And that is not because I think English to be a really easy language to learn, but more because of the exposure you get to the English language nowadays. Be it the Internet, Netflix or subtitled TV shows. You stumble upon English basically anywhere you look.

This is very weird. Here in Romania, at least, everybody speaks English. I mean, you can literally find very few people who don`t at least understand the language, even if they cannot speak it, and those people are all older generations. The younger ones all speak English very well. And the same was true back when I lived in Germany and Austria. Interesting..

That is very interesting. I have never heard of this engine before. If it indeed can translate languages naturally and in context, it will be a huge boon for translators around the globe.

Nowadays, I think almost any country can consider English their second official language. What with the Internet and the Mass Media and all, I don`t think any part of the world hasn`t had any contact with the English language. If this is a good thing or not? Only time will tell.

Mexican-African would truly be a new, in regards of general ethnicity. But if she sees herself as this? Why not? Nobody can really force your ethnicity upon you. Especially if you consider yourself as exotic as this combination.

Learning a new language can be really hard or really easy, depending on the person.Some languages might come easier to some people then to others. This is really a subjective topic.
