  1. I think if you have family that speak a different language that you don't know it's a great motivator, especially because you can easily get advice from them when you're having trouble.
  2. I haven't tried to learn a fictional language but I think if you have a lot of spare time it might be interesting and a different challenge from learning a non-fictional language.
  3. Learning one language is hard enough so I can't think how hard it would be to learn two at a time. I think if you want to learn two languages you should learn them one after the other.
  4. I definitely forget some of the more confusing words in my native language. Sometimes it's really hard to remember the right word to use especially if you're trying to explain something.
  5. I would say my top five are: 1. Japanese 2. Italian 3. French 4. Russian 5. German
  6. If you like fantasy I would definitely recommend Lord Of The Rings. Another good choice is The Hobbit which is a prequel to Lord Of The Rings and is a lighter read so is good for people not fluent in English.
  7. There are a lot of uncommon idioms from Australia, for example if you say you're "Up a gum tree" it means that you're in a bit of trouble. Idioms like these aren't actually used in Australia these days so it's very common for people to not have heard of them or understand them.
  8. I think it's just a matter of practice, many native English speakers don't know the difference and usually use the wrong word so I wouldn't stress too much over it.
  9. Even if it's usually not completely accurate sometimes I find it useful, it's better than not having a translation program to use and usually it provides a translation I can use.
  10. I don't use it in text messages. I try to use haha as a substitute most of the time as I don't like using lol.
