Came here to advertise? Read first   12/05/2016

Over the last few months, there's been a huge increase of members coming here just to advertise their own products, services, or whatever.
This is fine, but the "General Discussions" section is not the right place. If you came here to advertise anything you made or provide yourself, do this here.
If you came here to advertise anything you love to use, do it here. Thank you for your understanding. And remember: anything we consider spam is subject to the ban hammer. Any smash is available free of charge.

  2. I am leading a new project called www.speakmates.com where we are trying to let Language Mentors and people seeking to practice speaking a language find each other, meet in a cafe in small groups and socialize while practicing a language. We would be very happy to have you in our community, get your feedbacks and any support you might want to offer. Registering, creating and listing a language meetup is completely free for now, we are financing ourselves and we are planning to keep it free as much as possible.
  3. Hey! I'm a native English speaker who's very new to German and Mandarin, and would like to find someone I can skype with regularly to practice. I also speak intermediate level Spanish, and am near fluent in French, and would love to skype with people who are fluent/native in those languages. Cheneil

  5. Hi there, Does anyone know if there are any pen-pal type programs with Spanish speakers from other countries? I had a friend in France that I wrote back and forth with when I studied that and it helped immensely. Email would be fine, but I like the old-fashioned snail mail. Something about holding the letter physically and being able to review it makes my brain work a little harder and retail the information better. Thank you!
  6. Greetings: I live in Mexico. Previously I taught English in China for several years and it was necessary to learn their language to adjust my teaching style to their needs. Now, living in Mexico I can see very clearly some of the problems facing Latino students who desire to learn English. I just finished converting my Chinese phonetics program to Spanish to aid hispanohablantes. There are less sounds in Spanish than the target language English, therefore native Spanish Speakers need to be taught these sounds which, from their point of view, are unknown to them...not within their experience. The URL is here. http://www.elaanslist.com/display/fluency.php . It is not an app, but instead it is a screen cast used for self-learning. It requires personal dedication and verbal discipline to complete. It is to be used with your current English lessons.
