It's a word that I actually really like to use, however I do not often hear it myself from other people. Is indeed rather formal (mainly used in written language) or is it more often used in oral conversations? I use the word indeed when I want to put emphasis on something. For instance, if somebody would ask me: Have you been to the cinema yesterday? I would probably answer: Yes, indeed, instead of only saying yes.
