Piece of cake is a funny one. I first learned this one about 15 years ago when I played an Ego-Shooter game called Duke Nukem...In the beginning of the game you had to choose the difficulty level and the easiest one was called "Piece of Cake" :=)
oh, really? that is funny. I can remember that game and also this fact about the difficulty levels

thank you for providing this 成语。
as I guess you are a native speaker I would like to ask you: do you know the meaning of the chinese idiom 包办婚姻 (bāo bàn hūn yīn) ?

useful thread guys
I would like to add that if you want to say that the difference of something is BIG, you can use 得多 or 多了。
I am much taller than him | 我比他高得多. (wǒ bǐ tā gāo de duō)
I am much more intelligent than him | 我比他聪明得多. ( wǒ bǐ tā cóng míng de duō )
I am more beautiful than her | 我比她漂亮多了. (wǒ bǐ tā piàoliàng duō le.)
She is lazier than me. | 她比我懒多了. (tā bǐ wǒ lǎn duō le)
As far as I know, 得多 and 多了 mean exactly the same and are always «interchangeable».
Keep this thread going folks :karate:

Chinese Modal Verbs // 能,会,要,敢,可以,必须,肯
I know that the basic Chinese Modal Verbs are : 能, 会,要,敢,可以,必须 and 肯.
However, I have difficulties to understand the difference of 能 and 会 and 可以 and 肯. How can I know which one I need to use in a certain situation/sentence? Any suggestions?

I am constantly looking forward to find new great apps as learning Chinese with apps is good fun. ohhh yes, in the meantime if you have not already installed the apps I mentioned, give them a try. you will love them fo shure.

Remembering Chinese Idioms
Throughout my Chinese Studies, I had to learn quite a lot of 成语。However, I forgot almost none of them, because I could either not figure out a good way to remember them or in most cases, I just simply never used them again. Is there somebody else facing this problem? Do you maybe know a good way to memorize them better?
We could make a list here with the most frequent 成语, what do you think about that :-*

I have a question about the chinese character 着。
Sometimes I see the character 着 after a verb.
This morning I stumpled upno the sentence: 王老师在教师里说着话。
I guess it would also be possible to just say 王老师在教师里说话。
What is the difference of those two sentences? Is the 着 mandatory here ?
