That is a good idea. I will have to try that. I used to have a friend that helped me years ago that I met online playing poker. I never thought about Skype. Thanks!

It looks like everyone pretty much covered most languages, but this sounds like an interesting project you have going on. Now I'm racking my brain to figure out how "Lies and Slander!" fit into a birthday present. An inside joke, perhaps?

I hope that they add more languages soon. I think it is such a great way to learn a new language. I just need to stick with it.

Has anyone tried the Babbel app? I have seen lots of commercials, but was wondering how it compared to Duolingo. I hate the thought of spending a lot of money on learning a language. It should be free. Thanks for any input.

Hi there! My name is Colene and I'm from California (US). I speak fluent English (American and British) and I am looking to learn Italian proficiently. I started studying years ago, and would really like to become a fluent speaker.

In the English language, writing and speaking are vary different. There are things that you would write, but not use in conversation. Is this the same in all languages? 

I started studying Italian years ago, and gave up because I am so out of practice. I don't know any native speakers anymore and would like some advice, or perhaps someone who is a native speaker that could help? I could offer English help in return.

Google translator is getting more and more advanced. I have used it many times. Sometimes there are some errors, but it has definitely improved over the years.

Does Duolingo actually work? I haven't downloaded it yet, but was thinking about it. I knew someone who used it for Spanish but gave up.
