Well hi again to fellow fanatics of learning lingo. It just so happens that I am going to Russia for a few weeks this summer and I have barely gotten into the cyrillic alphabet, my plan is to learn a handful of useful phrases and words and compliment that with language apps as I have done before in Spanish-speaking countries. But I have made things extra difficult on myself by booking a couple domestic flights inside Russia with a national airliner that communicates only in Russian and has a russian-only website. The emails I have gotten so far I can simply throw into google translate and print out in English, usually the idea comes across somehow =). But russian airlines have proven to be unreliable with lots of problems and time changes, it is several months away and already stuff is being rescheduled. When the trip is underway, what do I do with the emails I get that I dont understand? I use an Iphone. Translating into English will be absolutely necessary and in my mind it could work like this: 1. Snapshotting the open email, making the screen an image in my photos. Then transferring the image into a suitable app that can identify and translate text in images. 2. Forwarding the entire email into a suitable app that accepts it and translates it. Copying and pasting large texts on a phone is not very easy so this would be awesome. You always figure things out as you get along and you always end up on the plane somehow but I enjoy using technology to simplify life and it is well needed because I don't make my trips easy in the first place (after all, I book flights in foreign countries using google translate). Any tips on what apps I should use or how I should deal with important emails that need to be translated?
