## What is a bold text generator?

A **bold text generator**, also called a bold font generator, replaces each letter you type with a Unicode character that is drawn bold. Type “Sale ends Friday” and you get 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆. This is not formatting and it is not a font. Each bold letter is a separate character from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, which was added to Unicode so that formulas could tell a bold variable from a regular one.

Because the weight is part of the character, it travels with the text when you copy and paste. That makes it useful in the places that have no bold button: a Facebook post, a LinkedIn post, an Instagram bio or a post on X.

## How to make bold text to copy and paste

1. Type or paste your text in the box. Only type the words you want in bold.
2. Pick one of the eight bold styles. They all update as you type.
3. Tap the style, or its **Copy** button.
4. Paste it into your post, bio or message, next to your normal text.

## Frequently asked questions

**Can I make just one word in a sentence bold?**

Yes. Type only that word in the generator, copy the bold version, and paste it into your sentence in place of the plain word. The words around it stay normal, as in "Doors open at 𝟳 𝗽𝗺 sharp".

**Is there a bold italic text generator?**

Yes, it is built into this page. The Bold Italic style gives 𝘽𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙭𝙩 and Serif Bold Italic gives 𝑩𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒙𝒕. Unicode has no bold italic digits, so numbers stay plain in both.

**Why do accented letters like é or ñ stay plain?**

The bold alphabets in Unicode cover the 26 basic letters and the ten digits. There are no bold versions of accented letters or punctuation, so the generator leaves those characters exactly as you typed them.

**Can I put my name in bold on Instagram or Facebook?**

On Instagram, yes: paste bold characters into the name field of your profile (not the @username, which must be plain). Facebook profile names are meant to be your real name in ordinary letters, so use bold in posts, comments and your bio instead.

**How do I get a bold name on Discord?**

Discord's **bold** Markdown only works in messages, not in names. For a bold display name, server nickname or channel name, copy bold characters from this page and paste them into the name field.

**Does bold text use up more characters on X?**

Yes. X counts most bold Unicode characters as two toward its post limit, so a bold sentence takes roughly twice the space of a plain one. Bold a few key words instead of the whole post.

**Can I use bold text in a hashtag?**

No. A hashtag written in bold characters is not recognized as a hashtag and will not appear in searches for the plain word. Keep hashtags, @mentions and links in normal letters.

**Why does my bold text show up as empty boxes?**

The device displaying it has no font containing the bold characters, which is most common on older phones and computers. Nothing is wrong with the text itself, but you cannot change how another person's device draws it.
