''Your'' and ''you're''

Do you feel the difference between your and you're? When I first joined some forums and websites, I was surprised how much people don't know the difference (especially on Facebook). What surprised me even more, those were people who's main language was English, not foreigners.

It was always pretty obvious to me that your isn't the same as you're (you are), even though I'm a foreigner.

Do you feel the difference? Does it annoy you when people misuses these words?

I don't get it either. I think it's one of the least confusing ones out of the commonly mistaken words, but I guess some people just don't care as much. I used to mind it when I was fairly new to the internet culture, but nowadays it's pretty much an accepted norm as far as I'm concerned.

The confusion between "your" and "you're" has unfortunately become more and more commonplace.

This is a topic that has been discussed in greater depth here.

You may find some of the insights and responses of interest as many others share the frustration of seeing this error so frequently.
