The oranges looked really fresh and beautiful so one man bought one back home only to find out that the orange was rotten to the core. He went back looking for the merchant for a refund but the merchant refused.金玉其外 (Jīnyù qí wài) is used to describe something or someone that only looks good outside but beneath them is bad or rotten.Example:"你不要看這女孩子長得那麼漂亮.「金玉其外」其實他是一個老千."
