Enhancing Your English Language Skills by Watching English Films/Shows

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! :)

English is not my first language but I have been exposed to it since I was a child because our country is also an English speaking country. I just want to share an advice given to me by my English Language tutor before, he told me that in order for me to practice my skills in the language I should keep watching films and shows which utilize the English language. They will not only enhance my vocabulary and pronunciation, but they will also enhance my listening skills in English. I have proven it to be effective when I finally took the International English Language Testing System. As they say, practice makes perfect so I really put my heart into practicing the English Language including having to give up watching my favorite local shows so I could concentrate on my English practice.

How do you see watching shows and films which are purely English based as a way of helping improve one's skills in the English language? Do you see it being a helpful tool or not?

      Hello! Hello! Hello!
Let's study languages together! I'm providing online Japanese, Bulgarian and English lessons.
My name is Diana. I'm a native Bulgarian, TESOL certified, JLPT N2 in the Japanese language, and I have three years of teaching experience.
The most important for me in language learning is enjoying the process and having fun with the language.

      Hi everyone,
We'd like to introduce a website to help learners improve their English at https://lingonut.com.
Lingonut helps you learn by reading and listening to fun and educational news. Each article comes with vocabulary notes and a quiz. In the future, learners can also save these notes to track their learning.
We're working hard to make the website a useful learning platform. Please let us know if you have any suggestions!
Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun learning!

      Hello, everybody.
I'm sorry if this forum is not for music, but I've been searching for those lyrics everywhere and never found them. I tried to write them by ear but cannot understand almost anything. Maybe a native speaker or a more fluent person than me can help me with this song and write down the lyrics ¿?  (The Grave Shall Be Forever by the band Paralysed Age).
A translation into another language is not necessary (I understand written English, plus I just want to sing it and make my own version). Thanks a lot!

Hello! First, I hope you all don't mind me sharing my video here in the forum.  I hope it can be useful to English language learners. I just started my channel for English language learners and would love any feedback. The other videos explain movie scenes and I have 3 about news in Spain. Thanks!!
