Great site for learning german

Recommended Posts

Study German Homepages

As a german native speaker, I would suggest you the following homepages :

www.duolingo.com ( actually offer great stuff for many languages).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/german/

http://www.goethe.de/  (homepage of the world-famous goethe institute)

http://www.surfmusik.de/  ( stream many different german radio channels online and free)

There must be many others...however, as I researched on this a couple of days ago I was surprised to see that there are apparently not so many good homepages that are offering quality content for learners of German :frozen:

Maybe I should create a new "Study German" homepage :=))

Thanks for this! I've been struggling a bit with learning more than pleasantries and ordering at restaurants - which I'd like to say I think I do pretty well.

I'll go check these out and maybe my German neighbors and community members will stop taking pity on me and just speaking English. I can't stand not knowing the language while I live in this country! It seems so rude to assume that they should speak my language just because I'm an American.

Thank you for the recommendations. I am always looking for new ways to improve how well I can write in German. If you are looking for a good translation website, I also recommend www.leo.org. It's what we used in High School to accurately translate words, and it has always worked well for me.

Thank you all for the recommendations! I use TuneIn Radio myself (I'm sorry I don't have specific links) and select any German station - so you can try that as well.  :millionaire:

oh yes...Tuneln Radio is great for all kind of languages (radio stations in different languages)! I recommend it as well! I got it as an iphone app.
