If there isn't a significant difference in difficulty in learning either language, what are some of the main differences between both? pandandesign Posted November 4, 2013 Report Share Posted November 4, 2013 I personally think Cantonese and Mandarin are the same. The only difference is that they are two separate dialogues, which it depends on where you live. I grew up speaking Cantonese, which wasn't that difficult for me. I learned Mandarin when I was 3 years old, which I think it was more difficult to learn than Cantonese. I also think Mandarin is harder to speak than Cantonese, but then again Cantonese is the language in which I grew up with. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
