I’m looking for volunteers who are willing to participate in an online experimental study as part of my doctoral dissertation called: GAMIFICATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE MOBILE-*‐LEARNING: A QUANTITATIVE STUDY ON SPANISH-*‐AS-*‐A-*‐FOREIGN LANGUAGE ADULT LEARNERS’ SATISFACTION, PERCEPTION, MOTIVATION, AND KNOWLEDGE.
The purpose of this study is to understand to what extent gamification and game elements and mechanics impact adults and self-*‐directed adult learners’ satisfaction, perception, motivation, and knowledge when interacting with a gamified mobile app on Spanish-*‐as-*‐a-*‐foreign language learning. Selected volunteers will be using an app for Spanish verb learning during 4 weeks. They should spend study time between one and three hours per week. Some of them will use a gamified version of the app. Before and after finishing the tasks of the app, volunteers will complete online surveys and assessments.
The findings of this study will be paramount for instructional designers and instructional game designers in the area of mobile second language learning. You need to meet the following criteria to be a prospective candidate for this study:
1. You should be 30 + 2. You should not be enrolled in formal education (undergraduate or graduate) 3. You should speak English as a mother tongue 4. You should have very little or no knowledge of Spanish 5. You should be able to use an Android mobile device
