      1. Hello. I am new too and is using a language forum for the first time. I am a native speaker of Arabic and have learned English through a combination of learning at school and studying the language with Korean at university. I have also studied French in school and is restudying it. I am also interested in learning about applied linguistics but was wondering if one would need a a bit of knowledge in linguistics first.
      2. Hello everyone. This is Ahmed79 and this is my very first post. I have been wondering the past few days about applied linguistics and whether it would be beneficial to study linguistics a bit first or if I could dip right in. I have read that it is now pretty much a separate discipline but I would like to make sure. If it has not been done already, can we have a sub-forum dedicated for one or the two disciplines?
