I got to learn some japanese words by watching subbed animes but I naturally just watch the show rather than thinking to learn any language but I do sometimes especially for words often repeated in the series or simple greetings.

I seem to agree with using the word Filipino than Tagalog for formality sake since the national language used in the Philippines is indeed called Filipino.

I check on the ratings rather than the review. It sometimes affects me whenever I see a bad review on a certain book I want to read but substantially, I'd stick on the ratings than the review since reviews are personal opinions of a person with a different interest which I don't know of.

I'm a native Cebuano speaker and I learn tagalog through school and watching TV. I did not have the same experience because the transition was smooth then. There are few words in Cebuano that has a different meaning when it comes to tagalog like "langgam" which is ant in Tagalog but bird in Cebuano but that doesn't mean it was hard then.

Never did I encounter one and if I'll have friends who are "jejemons" who text like crap, I would really face and talk him/her about it. Not that I want them to be formal or what but to teach them that it's hard to communicate and understand if they will do things the other party can't understand. Right now, the jejemon craze seems to be a minimal number now since Filipinos really have short term memories. We always find ways to have another "talk of the town" topics.

Aside from English, I think, the language that is most valuable to learn is Japanese. Well, it's for me though. I personally believe that Japanese is easy to learn and can help you deal with Japanese people and get involve with Japan which is now a booming country. Maybe chinese also can be a valuable one because of the chinese people around the world and their big role in the business industry.

I just started to learn Thai and the first part is learning the Thai alphabet. It looks awesome when you look at it but it's hard to memorize all of them. I tried writing some of them and it's not hard to write it. What makes it difficult is to remember how to pronounce and combine to form a word out of those alphabet. This language is challenging because it's a tonal type.

Hi everyone! I'm Tar from the Philippines. I'm currently trying to learn Thai and Korean language. I started learning Korean first through watching korean dramas and trying to read some from the internet and just last week, I engaged myself in trying to learn Thai. It's kinda hard for me since it's a tonal language but I'm willing to learn. There is no harm in trying though.
