Thanks for sharing! I was trying duolingo but I'm looking for an alternate. I'll give this app a shot, I don't have the time to take classes and app and softwares can be a huge help. I'm thinking of trying Rosetta Stone as well 

I tried it once, but I didn't like it that much, I was a little boring, but this is just a personal opinion. The interface is not that interesting and the learning logic is a little confusing. I think there are better apps to help.

I think softwares are good alternates if you don't have time, or enough money to take an actual class ,but I think language learning is way better when done with actual people around you. Talking and listening with a tutor is way better, but I heard rosetta stone is supposed to be really good. 

I don't think so, I think the primary source should be actual talk, listening and talking + repetition is the best way to do it. I think apps are great help but it should be only a supporting hole not the real deal. It is nice to have an app with nice interface and easy to use specially if you get bored easily, but i think you should definitely try to take a class or self educate in a more consistent way than an app. 

Nice tip, I've beeing trying to learn french but my biggest concern was how to actually practice it. It's ok to use apps and websites but, talking to native speakers is the real deal. It is also good to have an alternate to duolingo. 

I guess my first french movie was Mon Oncle, by Jacques Tati, by the time I did't watch because of the language it was because of the architecture discussion around it but my favorite one was Amélie, super sweet and not boring at all. Try Les Diaboliques! it's supposed to be really good. 

I don't know why they came up with such sentences, but I guess they try to apply knowledge from more than one chapter in each exercise, for example, to be verb + food... and they repeat those sentences a lot because the more you repeat more you learn. I don't know why, I am just guessing.  I would other apps to see which one is a better fit for you.

I guess Duolingo's interface is just simpler and more intuitive. The sentences are a little dumb but the app is just really easy to use, and the website version is way better, and you can connect your progress with LinkedIn, which is nice. But there is probably a bunch of other apps even better of course, people are just more used to Duolingo, due its popularity. 

"Eu te amo" this is the Portuguese version, it  looks a lot like Spanish, both beautiful languages. I would give Portuguese a shot, good luck!
