Working in a warehouse, I encounter situations every day where a simple sticker can determine whether a product gets to its destination. I'm considering switching to thermal labels, which require no ink or ribbon, but will they withstand damp boxes, cold storage, constant friction, and re-sorting?

Switching to thermal labels can be a practical solution, but there are some caveats. In practice, many warehouses use more durable direct thermal printing material even for seasonal campaigns like black friday stickers as they need a label that can withstand heavy use. So yes, thermal labels can work well if you choose the right type for your specific needs.
