German: "Eichenwalde" (grammar question)

Recommended Posts

The game "Overwatch" recently revealed an German map called Eichenwalde, which means oak forest in German. This is extremely minor, but why is there an 'e' at the end of the word? Is it due to the gender of the individual words ("eichen" and "wald")? Dict.cc/dict.leo could not tell me. Additionally, those translation sites kept giving me "Eichenwald" as the correct translation.

Thanks in advance.
