I have been studying English for 3 years. And every year I try to make progress but it seems to me that I can not do it. Because if a person has any fears like mine. I'm afraid before the public. I'm lost every time I'm among people. I want to answer but all thoughts disappear. I'm afraid to be wrong. I want to expand my thinking and vocabulary in English.

Dear Shoxona, you must believe in yourself! You are capable of doing what other people can, you are not worse, they are not better. All you need is to keep faith in your abilities, practice and never give up! I am sure that in the nearest future you will see the big results of your efforts!

Regarding your fears, everything new seems scary unless we do it. Go beyond your fears and worries, look straight into the eye of your weakness and tell it that you are stronger. After few successful speeches, your confidence will grow and fear will creep your mind less and less often. You cannot even imagine how delighted, fulfilled and satisfied you will feel yourself after overcoming your fears, so please, do not be afraid and try! Good luck!

I want to know how person can improve himself every day by doing something special. I really want to increase my knowledge but my laziness is very enemy. I want to rid off this but can't.  Please help me

    Hi Gulmira!

It is an actual problem nowadays, we get lazier due to all conveniences we surround ourselves with, and we live in a complete comfort zone. Therefore, I suppose, you should either set some false deadlines trying to do everything you need during this time, or you simply need to ask yourself: Why should I need to learn this? Is it going to help me? Will my life change in positive direction after accomplishing this task? Will I feel better if I put some effort and study or if I keep doing useless but easy, short-term pleasurable activities?  If you keep asking these questions, you will always have a burning desire to pursue your dreams. Good luck!

Hello Aisha! You have faced with a common problem of every language learner. Nevertheless judging by your writing abilities, your situation is not as incondite as you defined in your topic. But talking about your other abilities and skills, here are some advice for you.
Try to use English when you’re thinking about your day, or when you’re trying to decide what food to order. Even try to use an English to English dictionary to look up words. That way you never have to use your native language and translate words. You’ll notice that when you think in English, it’s easier for you to speak in English.

Whenever you’re at home (or alone somewhere else) you can practice your English with your favorite person: yourself.

If you’re already thinking in English, try speaking your thoughts out loud. Read out loud, too. Practice is practice, and even if you don’t have anyone to correct your mistakes, just the act of speaking out loud will help you become more comfortable speaking English.

Whenever you can, take a few minutes out of your day to stand in front of the mirror and speak. Choose a topic, set a timer for 2 or 3 minutes and just talk.

The point of this exercise is to watch your mouth, face and body language as you speak. It also makes you feel like you’re talking to someone, so you can pretend you’re having a discussion with a study buddy.

Talk for the full 2 or 3 minutes. Don’t stop! If you get stuck on a word you don’t know, try expressing your idea in a different way. You can always look up how to say that word after the 2-3 minutes end. This will definitely help you find out what kinds of words or sentences you have trouble with.
I hope the tips that are used and tested by myself will definitely help to improve your language.

Absolutely! Thank you! Yes, I hope that they will come in handy

‌Hello everyone) During lifetime we meet countless amount of teachers. As a matter of fact they are completely or partially different from each other. Some of them are energetic, emotional, full of beans masters, but another part are serene stony tutors... I have noticed that teaching specific subject (for example chemistry or biology) is another huge sphere in teaching profession, but nobody talks about that(( What kind of teachers do or would you prefer in order to learn a language? What kind of teachers do or would you like to learn scientific subject? Why? Share with us your experience)))

    Hello Bekhruza!

You're right, every teacher differs one from another as well as individuals do in their character, behavior, outlook. Fortunately, there is no a singular formula for teaching success - I believe, that it comes from within. There are many subjects, there are many teachers and there are many students, all of them are different and need specific approach, therefore, as far as I am convinced, the teacher should have mainly the passion towards teaching, towards conveying existent knowledge to the younger generation in the language they understand, they should believe in positive outcomes and do their best from their side, they need to understand the core importance, value and responsibility that have been laid upon them provided they are good specialists themselves. Other differences, like character, nature, temper, I reckon to be absolutely subsidiary, for I have encountered first class teachers both in introvert and extrovert shape) So, where is a will, there is a way!

  5. Hello language learners!

I am a polyglot from my early childhood, so speaking and listening to several languages have been with me throughout a long period. Nevertheless, no matter how long I am studying English, there are myriads of unknown words, expressions, idioms and ... slang! I blame my imperfect English competence on the artificial language immersion - I have never been abroad, I don't have a native English speaking partner, I don't encounter spoken lively English on everyday basis and I am not forced to use it at all. So, what do you think, guys,  is it possible to become an eloquent speaker implementing home resources in a more intensive way, or is it obligatory to dive into natural ambience?

    Looking forward to your answers!
