  1. I'm interested in Icelandic because of how little it's changed over time. Native speakers can almost understand Old Norse. I'm also interested in Romanian. But there fewer resources for rare languages. I like Duolingo as a starting point and they don't have an Icelandic course yet. And I can't find much to read in either language compared to how many books are on Amazon in Spanish/French/German/etc. So I'm interested, but it's just harder with less to go on.
  2. Oh, wow! One of the problems of typing on a smartphone. I need to correct that. Schadenfreude is right, I joke with the few people that know I like language learning that it's my favorite German word. My goals for language learning are mainly to read books in the language as a hobby, but I would like to improve all around.
  3. Hi everyone. I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I live in the United States and have been learning languages as a hobby for over a year. My strongest language is definitely German, but I'm also interested in Russian, French, Danish and Romanian. I love learning languages) it's a wonderful hobby, especially for an introvert and bookworm. But I'm the only person I know who's into it, and I'd love to find a friend/study buddy for conversation/motivation.
