  1. Interesting, thanks for the info. I don't have a trackpad, as I have an iMac. On my system/keyboard/input sources 'handwriting' is not even listed. (Mac OS High Sierra version 10.13.6) However, no, I don't want to use Pinyin. Supposedly, if one uses the character components one can type faster. (eventually). I'm guessing by character components they are talking about the radicals, but I'm not really sure. I just found Wubi Xing on the Mac keyboard. However, I'm not sure how it works, because there are just about 26 components, whereas there are 214 radicals... I'm new to all this, so I'll need to look at the radical chart and compare it with the keyboard and see if I can create all of them. Also on the Mac keyboard, there is a 'stroke - simplified' so, maybe that will give enough additional parts to create all of them. However, if one has to switch between the two keyboards to create characters, then I really don't see how that could ever be faster. ? My interest in Chinese is only to read and write, not speak or listen, so that's why I see no reason to deal with Pinyin at all. Any ideas on this topic are appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  2. How can I type on a Mac with character components?
