  1. If I could go back, I’m honestly not sure I’d import my first car again through Japanese car exports to UK. I went for a Nissan Skyline (R34 GT), and while I love the car, the process was way more stressful than I expected. Between shipping delays, paperwork, and waiting for DVLA registration, it felt like a long gamble rather than a smooth purchase. I’m based in Manchester, and even finding a decent insurance quote was tricky at first. When I went through Japanese car exports to UK process, I didn’t fully understand how much extra cost would come after the purchase price. IVA testing, minor modifications for UK roads, and MOT prep added up quickly. I also underestimated how different spec JDM cars can be when it comes to parts availability here. Anyone else felt the same shock after importing? I feel like the excitement kind of hides the reality until the car actually lands in the UK. Just wondering, if you’ve imported before, would you do it again or just buy UK stock next time? And for first-timers, what models do you think are actually worth the hassle nowadays kei cars, hybrids, or performance imports? I’m also curious if there are any simple ways people are making the whole process less painful these days.
