      1. I have watched several foreign films, but the one that still stands out for me is the Italian film, Life Is Beautiful. It came out in 1997 which starred Roberto Benigni who also directed it. For me, it was an inspiring movie with a bittersweet ending. I highly recommend it to everyone.
      2. When it comes to anime, I prefer dubbing in English as long as the voice actors are directed well so as to keep the essence of the show intact compared with the original Japanese voice actors. I don't mind reading the English subtitles if there is no dubbed version available. It's just that I'm a slow reader and oftentimes I have to pause of replay a scene when subtitles are flashed for only a second or two. Then I end up being lost when I miss the dialogue completely.
      3. I began learning Spanish at school as early as the 4th grade and continued until the end of high school. I was able to place out of the required foreign language courses in college, although I would have liked to continue taking classes that would have helped my conversational skills. Nowadays, I rarely use the Spanish language which is sad. There's also really nobody around with whom I could speak and practice the language.
      4. Hi there, Akasha! Welcome to the forum! I hope you'll enjoy your stay here and find many interesting topics and discussions about the languages of the world. I'm sure this forum will be an inspiration for your music, as well. Have a lovely day!
      5. Thank you for this thread! As someone who enjoys using YouTube for amusement, entertainment as well as educational purposes, this highly encourages me to utilize the website for language learning which I haven't really tried before. In fact, I'll go look for some videos now. Hope everyone has a lovely night!
      6. Aside from Spanish, another language I would love to learn and master is Japanese with Korean being a close second. I guess it's because of my recent interest and enjoyment of J-pop and K-pop music. I've been into Japanese anime for a while, reading English subtitles as I watch, of course, but to speak and understand the language would be wonderful. I'm also planning on a visit to Japan in the near future so anything would help.
      7. Thanks so much for the warm welcome, caparica007! It's very nice to meet you, too, and I hope to see you in the forums, as well. Have a great rest of the day!
      8. Hi, everybody! I'm new to this forum so I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Emmy  I'm fascinated with learning about different cultures, which includes languages, visiting new places, immersing myself in a country's traditions and food, and meeting some amazing people from around the globe. I hope that with the help of this forum, my education and enrichment will continue to be a fun experience. I hope to someday master the Spanish language and travel to Spain as well as the Central and South American countries to practice what I've learned. Any help would be much appreciated. Have a great week, everyone!
