KellyValentine replied to KellyValentine's topic in Spanish Language | Discussion
Thank you, I've been doing some research trying to figure out which option is the right one for me.There are so many different ways that I can get started that it's kind of overwhelming. -
What is Hardest- Reading, Writing, or Speaking?
KellyValentine replied to tulosai's topic in Language Learning
I really can't answer answer this personally because I only know one language. I think someone who knows multiple languages would be able to answer this question more accurately. I do believe however that it depends on the person. Spanish might be easy for one person to learn and then might be hard for someone else. -
For everyone who is currently learning Spanish or has learned Spanish in the past, what is your favorite learning method? Do you like to sit in a class and have someone teach it to you? Or would you prefer to use computer software or read a book? Those are just some examples. Let me know if you have any others you prefer.Which do you believe is better for beginners?

I think I have become so dependent on spell check and word prediction that I don't really realize when it is time to do something without using one of those I may be lost. I don't think that it's lack of education on my part but lack of practice.

Thanks so much!

Hello everyone my name is Kelly. I currently reside in Georgia and I've been here for about 6 years. My biggest fear is becoming a southerner. I'm originally from Detroit and I don't want to trade in my up north accent for a southern one. As far as learning a new language, I am interested in learning Spanish and possibly French. I look forward to talking to you all.

If the material is something that I'm already familiar with then I read it fast. If I really need to comprehend something then I take my time and read slower. My daughter is 8 and she thinks that reading fast is what your supposed to do. She likes to hurry up and finish the books. Then when I ask her about what happened in it she has no idea. I'm trying to teach her to slow down and actually learn what is happening in the stories.

I've decided that I want to learn Spanish as my second language. I'm familiar with the language from high school and college but I'm not at all fluent. As far as getting started, what are the best books, programs and classes out there? Thanks in advance.
