I actually use it a lot but I like to use the typical "hahaha" too; it really depends on the situation.

It really depend on the text.
I've had to read philosophy and boy it was hard. And since philosophers like to use not-so-common adjectives it really makes it difficult.
On the other side, when I read an article or when I'm chatting with a friend I can understand it very easy so I can read things a lot faster.

My first idiom was "A piece of cake"
It's really easy to understand so as soon as the teacher explained it to me I started using it.
Another one really easy was "An arm and a leg."

I've been reading Spanish and Latin American poetry recently and it really is a delight to read it. It sounds lovely. As expected of a Romance language.

I've got two words that I used to have a lot trouble spelling.
Embarrassing and definitely. Embarrassing since it's so long and the double rr and ss used to confuse me.
Definitely because even though it's so easy, the pronunciation sounds nothing like that.
