What's your main motivation to learn spanish?

I think it's healthy to learn another language along with the fact that I'm going to South America to a country where the language is Spanish. -

Because I supposedly have a Spanish background and I think it's a good skill to have. I'm also going to South America next year, where hopefully it'll help me. -
Why Spanish is a Language worth learning?

I think it's just a lovely skill to possess, for one. But it's also useful for traveling and for talking to people you come across that may not speak fluent English. -
Well I was taught in school, but it didn't stick. Lately I've been using this app called Duolingo, which I really like. I feel like I'm learning more than I did in school.
