Is bilingualism necessary to be successful in life?
Solirivera55 replied to True2marie's topic in Language Learning
I think its helpful in life. Today their are more and more people coming from all over the world who do not know english. Or do not know a language! I know I would love if someone helped me with a direction or how to do something and I did not know a language and thank god for that one person who is bilingual to help.. Its amazing to me that I see alot of people come into my job who do not know much english and have a hard time explaining something to some one who is not bilingual and they just have a hard time to help them, and I am there and thank god im bilingual and I do not want to brag but I make a person happy by being able to explain to them something. ! Its truly amazing being bilingual learning the different ethics of cultures and how different it is from both sides. -
When did you start to learn a second language?
Solirivera55 replied to cbintz's topic in Language Learning
I started learning a language when I was younger, probably around 5 years old my parents started teaching me our native language , Spanish.. As a 19 year old today I am a perfect spanish speaking woman of today. I love teaching my son who is 1 and a half and speaks spanish now. Says Hola, but that is just a start . Ha. -
The Wrong Way to Learn Spanish?
Solirivera55 replied to SpringBreeze's topic in Spanish Language | Discussion
We all have some different opinions. I am fluent in spanish. I am puertorican.I speak what you call the slang- language. Its almost like the wrong way to learn spanish as well as the ghetto way. If you want to speak spanish or learn I suggest learning the proper way. FROM spain. Latin spanish. Most of our words are the same but slightly different. !
