I learnt a few words online and dived right in speaking to people in Germany. I find it better if I have someone to speak to as I pick up words very quickly.

Depends what you mean by fast I can read a 100 page text within 20 minutes. I am not sure whether or not that is fast tho :/

I started learning a new language at the age of 18. I since then have got better and better and now live in the country that I was learning the language for, namely German.
