I am an English monoglot who, although fascinated by language, has struggled thus far in learning another language. I have set myself a challenge to learn a set of six languages. My real hurdle is that I have trouble remembering the "alphabets" of non-Latin alphabet languages, and struggling to disconnect English pronunciation of letters in languages that do use a Latin alphabet. If I could get over this hurdle, I think I would be able to progress and that's what I'm hoping to find an answer to.
