  1. The first English idiom I learned was "Don't Cry over Spilled Milk" and the popular "Don't Make a Mountain Out of a Mole Hill." I heard these when I was throwing a temper tantrum or whining in general. You could say these to kids and they would get the point.
  2. The other user answered it correctly, but I do this whenever I make a small bet. I am not talking about Las Vegas mega million betting, but just simple "if this happens, you owe me $--" After I win the bet, the other person challenges me, and asks if I want to go double or nothing. This is where I can choose to keep the bird in the hand, or go for two in the bush. This is just a small example of what I think when I hear this idiom.
  3. Also love this app. I was in a Spanish class and decided to learn German on DuoLingo. On the first day, I learned much more than I would studying by myself. Also, the incentives they offer for completing tasks makes me want to stay on it all night.
