In my other post here in linguaholic, I mentioned about Chinese Mandarin and Japanese. Yes I am very much interested in these languages. However I would also like to learn Spanish and French. Even German. It would always be good to explore different ways to expressing yourself. I chose these languages because of the trend of how business and technology is going. These countries I believe are going to be giants in the future.

I would agree to most of the comments here. Let her choose. However, with the question about languages, in my opinion, the best choices are Spanish, French, Mandarin and Japanese. Take a pick! *I personally think that these countries are going to be big contributors to the technology world in the future.

Have not given up yet. I am currently trying to understand Mandarin and is really dreaming to do formal study on the language in the future when I have the money for it already. Furthermore, yes I agree that having practical application for the language you are learning (example: living or having a vacation in that country) can really help motivate you to learn fast.

Aside from ENGLISH, in my opinion, JAPANESE and CHINESE languages are also important. These being because these 2 countries, Japan and China are moving very fast in terms of Science and Technology. Looking in the future, I think these 2 countries are going to become giants in the world of business and manufacturing.
