I mostly use language blogs and grammar books. I think it's not the most efficient way to go about it. The best way would probably be something like italki.

Writing is also much easier to learn than speaking. It's possible to learn how to read and write a language from books, but it's very hard to learn how to speak a language without talking with someone fluent in it.

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they have Spanish as an option. They only teach English, German, French, Russian, and Chinese.

Notice is a word that is somewhat limited when compared to realize. Notice means to become aware of something which can be observed. Realize, like you said, means to know something you did not know before. In Mrs. Whitley's case, she did not realize (did not know that the tea was spilled), but she also did not notice (she did not see him spill the tea). "Notice" doesn't work in "Later, we realized that we had met before in Paris", because it wasn't something that they observed.

Hi! I'm currently self-studying Spanish. I took up a couple of Spanish courses back in college but, needless to say, I have much still to learn.
