こんにちわ! Hi all, my name's Randy and I'm new to this forum. I'm a native English speaker who first started learning a second language (Japanese) about five or six years ago in Community College. Unfortunately my learning has long since slipped and I've forgotten much of what I knew. I stumbled upon this site and figured, what the heck, I might learn something new and rekindle my love of Japanese. Hey Paul, thanks for making this app and sharing it with us here. I've only had a few minutes to test out your app, but what I've experienced so far I've liked. The pronunciations are clear and done by native speakers so it sounds very authentic. I have a feeling this app will play a big part in reviving my studies of Japanese, and get me used to the languages sounds and pronunciations. Thanks again for sharing.

I learned Japanese through a Community College course, and I think it was the best method. I was fortunate to find a summer class that met four days a week for 4 hours each day, which was perfect. Immersing yourself in a language is always the best way to learn it, so no matter which method you choose, do it often and do it all the way, don't half ass it. If you can find others to learn with, that's even better. You'll always help each other out and you can be sure that no one's judging you since everyone's still learning. Bonus for you if you can find a native speaker to join you and a professional setting such as a school might be the best way to find that. I know the college I went to offered native speakers credits or something along the lines to get native speakers to help out the students either in class or as tutors.

I decided to give this a shot since you're mentioned it, and so far I have to say it's the best tool I've found for Kanji. I was using primarily phone apps on the Play Store and they only focused on memorization. I really like this mnemonics thing. It makes it easier to associate Kanji with English, and that's helping me quite a bit. It's an interesting approach though. I feel like I'm being taught to understand, but not pronounce or speak, but maybe that's because I'm only on the first few lessons.
