Hi linguaholic forums,

I am a freshman in college and I have a desire to learn more languages. I want to focus on Chinese in particular.  I'm a Chinese born American but I rarely spoke Chinese at home. There is a lot of regret because I feel disconnected from my culture as a result. I want to learn more about my family's culture and the language they grew up with and that is why I'm here.

Hey there wonga, welcome to linguaholic.

I think it must be great that you start studying your "own" language, I am sure it will connect you more with your country. You'll find good support here.

I hope to see you around!
