scribe_of_the_stars
How did you start learning Japanese? In my case I started by learning hiragana and katakana first, then moved to memorizing basic vocabulary and getting my ear accustomed to the language, after that I started learning kanji and some grammar. What is your method? Miya
I unofficially started by listening to Jpop/watching Jdramas & Japanese TV shows xD That helped me learn some vocabulary and pronunciation. But my method is similar to yours -- I learned hiragana first, then katakana, then basic 'foundation' grammar rules and vocabulary, then basic Kanjis, intermediate Kanji, Keigo, and more Kanji
j_evemstar
In my case, I started listening to JPod101's podcast. This was I think late 2008. It was really helpful as their dialogs indeed illustrate realistic scenarios in Japan. After few months I enrolled in a class and pretty much did the same as you guys did.
