  1. Yes I do, especially if I have been traveling a lot, sometimes I find myself hesitating about how to say words in my own language.
  2. Chinese is a nightmare for the tone of variations, sometimes they are so subtle that it is hard to differentiate them, it is a beautiful language though and I love the way it sounds. It is on my to learn list.
  3. Yes, it is actually very easy to land a job in my country if you speak English, you don't really need any other qualifications, your English level only has to be good enough.
  4. I used to go to karaoke by myself (Sad, I know) but in Japan they have private rooms that you can rent, so that's basically what I did. I rented a karaoke room for a couple hours and sang along reading the lyrics in Japanese from the screen.
  5. My first language is Spanish and my second language is English, which I started learning since kindergarten. My mother wanted us to learn a second language so she had us in a bilingual school.
  6. How did you start learning Japanese? In my case I started by learning hiragana and katakana first, then moved to memorizing basic vocabulary and getting my ear accustomed to the language, after that I started learning kanji and some grammar. What is your method?

I work for a nonprofit organization my country which is linked to a Japanese nonprofit organization, so a lot of my coworkers are actually Japanese, I feel like Japanese allows me to communicate better with them and build closer relationships. I also have to travel to Japan often for work, so it helps me to enjoy each trip to its fullest.
  8. I used to use "Lol" all the time when talking to my friends, but then I started rereading what I was typing and I felt that it was a little too juvenile. So I replaced it with "Haha".
  9. I used to have trouble spelling the word "receive", I always spelled it "recieve", even in business emails. I was so embarrassed when I found out that I was spelling it wrong.
  10. My favorite quotes come from my favorite movie, Fight Club: "Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing." and "It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything."
  11. I do, sometimes I'm very self-conscious about the way that I speak or my accent, but the good thing about not being afraid of making mistakes is that once you make them, you will never make the same mistake again.
  12. Yes, I'd first like Japanese coworkers were very impressed by the fact that I can speak Japanese, they were even more impressed when I told them that I spoke Spanish as well, in Japan polyglots are very rare.
  13. In my personal opinion grammar is actually essential for language learning, you can't build anything without the proper plans and structure.
  14. I'm starting to learn Thai things I am very interested betta fish and the most famous breeders are from Thailand, I want to be able to understand it to gain more in-depth information on the matter.
  15. It is very common, especially in situations where you are required to produce information or someone else (e.g your boss, doctors). I personally tense up when I am in a meeting and it's it is my turn to speak in Japanese.
