becigep441 Posted Wednesday at 01:49 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 01:49 PM I'm considering refinishing my kitchen cabinets to give my kitchen a fresh look without the expense of completely replacing them. Has anyone had experience with local painters for cabinet refinishing? I'm particularly interested in finding someone who pays attention to detail and uses high-quality materials. Also, do most do the work on-site, or do they take the cabinet doors off to do the painting off-site? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any recommendations! Quote
milligan Posted Wednesday at 03:26 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 03:26 PM Cabinet refinishing is a fantastic way to update a kitchen! When shopping around, be sure to ask Painters in Williams Lake, BC about their cabinet refinishing process. Some painters remove the doors and spray them in a shop for a smoother finish, while others do the work in your kitchen. Hiring someone for cabinet refinishing should include things such as sanding, priming, and applying multiple coats of paint or stain. Be sure to ask about the types of paints or stains they use and if they offer a warranty on their work. Quote
rapav63606 Posted Thursday at 02:13 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:13 PM The trend of refinishing rather than replacing is sensible because the cost of completely new cabinetry is exorbitant for many. It does, however, place a lot of pressure on getting a perfect finish because imperfections are far more noticeable on cabinetry. I also imagine that the prep work involved in cabinet refinishing is as labor-intensive as the painting itself. Quote
