Vernon Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 I’ve been researching sump pumps and their role in protecting basements. They seem useful, but I’m not sure if they cover every type of flooding risk. I imagine they help with groundwater, but what about other sources? I don’t want to rely on one solution if it’s not enough. It’s important to understand the limitations. Has anyone relied solely on a sump pump? Quote
jacombo Posted April 27 Report Posted April 27 It’s surprising how often people underestimate the long-term effects of moisture in a basement. Even small amounts of water intrusion can lead to mold growth and structural weakening if left untreated. Proper waterproofing is not just about sealing cracks but about managing water flow around and inside the foundation. When I was looking into this topic more deeply, Mississauga waterproofing provided useful insights into how professionals approach these issues in a structured way. Quote
