I’ve been wondering this for a while now… do people actually get real paying users from hookup ads, or is it mostly just clicks that go nowhere?

When I first started experimenting with these campaigns, I thought traffic was everything. More clicks meant better results, right? But honestly, that wasn’t the case. I was getting signups, sure, but very few of them were converting into paying users. It felt like I was just burning budget without seeing real returns.

After digging into it a bit, I realized the problem wasn’t just the traffic, it was the intent behind it. A lot of users clicking on these ads are just curious or browsing, not actually ready to spend. That was my biggest mistake early on. I was targeting too broad and not thinking enough about who I actually wanted.

One thing that helped me shift perspective was reading through this guide on Online Hookup Ad Campaigns. It made me rethink how I was structuring everything, especially creatives and targeting. Instead of trying to attract everyone, I started focusing more on messaging that filters out free users and speaks directly to people who are okay with paying.

I also noticed small tweaks made a difference. For example, being a bit more upfront in the ad copy about premium features or paid access reduced junk clicks. Fewer clicks, but better quality.

I’m still testing things, but one thing feels clear now: it’s less about volume and more about intent. If your campaign is bringing the wrong crowd, no amount of optimization will fix that.

Curious if others here had a similar experience or figured out a better way to get actual paying users?
