Yrtrm Posted Saturday at 08:58 AM Report Posted Saturday at 08:58 AM We are moving into the structural phase of a high-rise project and the pressure is on. I am trying to decide if we need dedicated inspectors for every shift or if daily walkthroughs by the site manager are enough. What is your typical frequency for high-stakes tasks like foundation pours or electrical rough-ins? I don't want to burn out my staff but I also can't afford a single structural defect at this stage. How do you balance the workload while keeping quality high? Quote
Cani Posted Saturday at 09:08 AM Report Posted Saturday at 09:08 AM For a high-rise project, you really can't be lax with oversight. Daily safety walks are a must, but for major milestones, you need a very thorough process. If you are wondering what is a construction site inspection? in a practical sense, it is your main tool for catching defects before they get buried. We usually have the supervisor do quick daily rounds and then an engineer comes in for the big sign-offs. This second pair of eyes is great because they aren't distracted by the daily chaos of the crew. It helps us catch things like plumbing issues or misaligned steel before the concrete is dry. It is just smart risk management and it keeps the whole project on schedule. Quote
