Yes, for me it is good to read and listen at the same time because it helps me to concentrate and it improves listening skills as well as develops my vocabulary. Listening without subtitles is okay but it will be better if you are listening and reading the text for you to fully understand the content of what you are listening. Just like in watching movies that have a subtitle, I tend to focus more on listening and the subtitles and it is indeed helpful in your listening skills, vocabulary, and also you can adapt to how those people speak, I mean how the characters speak with their tone of voice.
