That challenge of teaching overloaded kids who just want to play is so real. I've found that the best approach is to meet them where they are through movement and play. For example, I recently got an indoor play system for my own kids, and it's been a game-changer for more than just fun. When kids are physically active, especially with climbing and balancing, it actually primes their brains for learning. It helps with focus and releases that pent-up energy from sitting in school all day. Maybe incorporating short, movement-based brain breaks or even using the play structure as a reward for focused work could help. When their body is engaged, their mind often follows. It turns "boring" grammar into something they can tackle after a quick climb.
