  1. One of my favorite quotes is by the Artist Andy Warhol. He said: "They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself." Thanks for creating this great topic. I always enjoy reading new quotes (and old favorites as well).
  2. Welcome! I live not too far from Chicago and used to live in the city. One of my favorite restaurants used to be Berghoff, but they closed it some years back. That was the closest one could get to German food in the Loop. They used to make their own beer and rye bread, too. I was so sad when it closed. I have been to Germany but it was many years back. I went to Octoberbest in Munchen with some friends. There's so much more of country I would love to see. Do you get to travel there often?
  3. Hi everyone! I am a female traveler who embraces learning new languages, even if I am not very proficient in any of them. I am probably best in French, but I could use a lot of remedial work there as well. I live in the Midwest (US), but have lived in London and I am hoping to one day spend the rest of my life traveling around the world, living in different countries. I think the best way to know a place is to live there. In addition to London, I have lived in Washington, DC; San Francisco, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada. I'd love to live someplace tropical or somewhere with a lively arts scene. I love fine art and my somewhat impossible life goal is to visit every art museum in the world. Right now I am just trying to work on visiting the ones in Europe first.
  4. Like many people, I learned French in high school and have used it some on my travels to France. However, now I find myself wanting to reimerse myself in the language in a big way. Anyone have any suggestions of how to pick up again? Of course, I remember basic words and phrases, but I need a refresher course.
