Since I'm not really required to learn any foreign language, I just tried studying it out of curiosity, because I listen to German songs, and Spanish is a widely spoken and very popular language.

I really forgot which idioms I learned first, but I guess I encountered the idioms "sweating like a pig", "pass with flying colors" and "make a mountain out of a molehill" pretty early in life.

The idioms "tall order" and "hit the sack" would be my favorite ones, because the other idioms like "plenty of fish in the sea" or "wolf in sheep's clothing" are too common.

I would like to add "a queer fish" and it means "a strange person". Actually, this is also the 1st time that I encountered that particular idiom, since I just googled it, lol.

Yeah it is an idiom that means that there are plenty of people or choices out there. I think that that idiom is also commonly used in casual conversations.

I think that almost all idioms can be quite misleading and would look really absurd if pictured literally, like "hit the sack" or "tall order". In my opinion they all sound strange to me.

How do I feel before an exam? I never get nervous, even if I didn't study at all, I still feel relaxed and neutral about it. I guess that goes to show my carefree attitude regarding studying, lol.

I think making lyrics is the same as making poetry, but coming up with the tune for a song would be another task, so I think that I would just stick to poetry because it's much easier to make and I can do it with such ease provided that there's an inspiration to it.

I haven't really had much trouble using propositions, since I always go with what "sounds better" if I'm confused regarding which prepositions to use. And it turns out, the one that sounded better always turns out to be the right one.

I first heard that word in Usher's song "Twork It Out" around 2002, so that word is already familiar to me when it became popular. However, I never really bothered to research what it means until it became popular recently, thanks to Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus "owns" that word now, like Paris Hilton's "That's hot", lol.

Yes I think that online tutorials are quite effective, because it's one on one teaching, and you can always ask the teacher to clarify or explain things for you as compared to when you just self-study online.

I've always thought that Americans and Canadians sound the same, after all, Justin Bieber and Avril Lavigne are Canadians, and I never noticed any difference in their accent when they speak, they actually sound like Americans if you ask me.

I started learning English when I was in pre-school, as soon as I can understand and speak my native language, since English is widely spoken over here, and even English tv shows and movies are part of our local media, so it's easy to be completely immersed in the language.

Tagalog is very different from English, so there are no instances like that in my book. However, it's interesting to know that English to French language have identical words that have very different meanings. That can really be confusing.

Well I think the hardest part when you're trying to learn English is that some words sound the same but have different meanings like "lose" and "loose" or "threw" and "through". Plus the slang words can confuse the student even more if used in a sentence.

So far I have only liked British accents, they sound quite sexy and sometimes their tone and manner of speaking seems like it has a tune, like they're sort of singing while speaking.

I use however when I'm gonna mention something in contrast to my 1st sentence, so Denis' explanation is correct. But until now I haven't encountered a sentence that ends in "however", so I think it's not commonly done.

Textbroker seems to be strict with the nationality of their members, what does that have to do with writing content? I guess they automatically assume that a native English speaker is superior to non-native English speakers because it's their native language, which is very untrue.
