  1. I agree. If I'd known that I would be living in a region where hispanics make up most of the population (Washington, DC), then I would have taken more Spanish courses during high school and college. I only took the required courses that I needed for graduation, but if I could go back in time, then I would have taken more while they were available. Sadly, now I have to play catch up.
  2. Hi! This is a good question because I work in an industry where the primary language is Spanish. However, I have only been working there for about 2 months. I have only picked up certain words and phrases, but I am nowhere near fluent! I think in order for you to learn by listening to people you'll also need to spend some time at home maybe 30 minutes a day on your own looking at the words/phrases. At least by listening to others, you'll grasp the pronunciations if anything else. Happy learning! xo
