  1. I don't think you can learn a language entirely by listening to songs in that language. But, I guess it helps. It can be helpful in knowing the proper way to pronounce words as singers usually don't use an accent. Also, to discover new words and lookup its meaning is helpful too. If nothing else you are at least enjoying the song
  2. I will try to sign up later tonight when I have more time. But from my first impression, I will say your landing page needs a lot more work. The landing page doesn't provide much useful information and design wise it looks very empty. I like a minimalist design, but this one looks like the cover of a word document. If I am stumbling onto the page from Google, I wouldn't spend much time and it wouldn't make me want to check it out. I think you should divulge a little more detail about the app and also throw in a few screenshots.
  3. I have been using it for quite sometime and I really like it. It is fun to try and keep up with it and the rewards and achievements makes the experience similar to playing a game. The UI is nice and easy too. I m taking about the web version on PC tough. Haven't used the app on mobile yet but I am planning to do so soon.
  4. I find it very difficult keeping myself motivated when I am making very slow progress. When I am doing everything right I seem to cruise but when I get stuck somewhere I get frustrated and demotivated soon. I guess I am not very good in recognizing subtle differences in accents and this sometimes make it all very confusing.
  5. I guess it is because of the fact that to speak a language properly you will need to know the proper pronunciation and at least have some idea of the accent even if you don't follow it completely. This is something that is not that easy to master unless you practice for a long time and results in confidence issues making it even more difficult. Of course when learning a language you will learn about the pronunciation and such, but it is somehow easier to read and write and let your brain recognize it then to actually speak it yourself.
  6. Here's my bucket list as it stands currently, Spanish - Learning, Intermediate French - Learning, Beginner. Want to learn Chinese, German and Korean in within the next few years to at least at a semi fluent level. .
  7. I have never used Duolingo on my mobile. I have been meaning to try the app on my Android but haven't done it yet. I love it on the PC though. It is one of the best language learning app I have ever used. Even though it has some quirky moments here and there, it has got a lot better than when it first came out (yes, I am an early user). Anyway, thank you for the heads up, I will keep this in mind when I try out the mobile app.
