Use your phone and place it a memo, diary or other way you can remember it. Use paper and write the word and meaning and continue to memorize it. The act of writing it [the new word] continuously fixes it in your mind. But that doesn't mean you can't forget it. To really master the words you have to practice using them from time to time.
