Recommend places to start for someone completely new?

So yea, title.

I've been interested in Russian for a long while but never got around to picking it up.

Figured now would be a decent time, so for someone that is 100% new, doesn't know a single thing about the knowledge, what would be some places you would direct said individual towards?

Hi BlackCaXIII,

Russian is a very interesting language to study.

If I were you, I would start with learning the alphabet, taking lessons with a "real teacher" at least at the beginning, so that you could hear the way the language should sound and someone could guide you to correct pronunciation and teach you to build "Russian-sounding" sentences.

I would also recommend watching Russian movies and cartoons with subtitles to start with, as it will be a great way to build your vocabulary.

Cheers!
