Trellum
It's official; I passed! I got my results yesterday evening. This came as really nice and surprising news, because the day prior to my exam I couldn't sleep at all. I am so happy i will not have to go back to mexico city! So happy! My results are as follows: Spreekvaardigheid: 10 (I actually thought I'd not pass this one). Leesvaardigheid: 9 Kennis van de Nederlandse Samenleving: 10 I took a whole month off from everything in order to completely focus on studying for this exam So glad to see it paid off!
Those are actually amazing scores! I know you did the A2 exam (if I remember it correctly?), but getting a 10 for something is still rare over here. 7 hours ago, czarina84 said: Gefeliciteerd! I hope that's the right word. Trellum
No, no, it was the A1 I've to wait at least 3 years for the A2 one, but since I got those scores I was told by my fiance that I might not have to take all the exams that are part of the A2 examen. I am just so happy I passed really, I hadn't slept at all the previous night prior to the exam. I was exhausted, my head hurted bad by the time I was trying to do the second exam (the reading one). So glad I didn't do the speaking one first, I panicked when I was told i only had 25 minutes to complete that one (I had 30 minutes each for the other two). Glad it's over for now. And thank you
anna3101
@anna3101 It should be "Gefeliciteerd met het behalen van je examen". Other than that, it's correct.

Sadly I'm starting to forget Dutch I haven't practiced for a while... the fact I've a neurological problem (will talk about it in the next mail) doesn't help... it affects my memory badly :'( By the way, is Basia a Siamese cat? anna3101
I hope your health gets better soon. When I'm having health problems (I have my own bunch, as you can guess :D), I keep telling myself there are people with the same issues as me, and if they can go on, then I can do it too. it helps a bit. A good doctor is also a must. My life totally changed for the better once I found a good specialist. Basia is not Siamese. She is a normal cat, no special breed.

Very well done on this one, but: 1. "Dankjewel" may have no spaces. 2. "Ik ben wel trots" (I am yes/probably proud) should be "Ik ben heel trots" (I am very proud). 3. "Nederlands" should be with a capital N, all names in Dutch start with a capital letter, just like in English. 4. The last sentence should be either "Ik ben zo blij dat ik het examen heb behaald" or "Ik ben zo blij, omdat ik geslaagd ben voor mijn examen". Thank you, I had no idea about the Dankjewel one, I thought there had to be spaces in that phrase. Does that affect the pronunciation of this phrase at all? And ah, the number 4.... I need to work more on word order, I haven't felt like studying Dutch since I passed the exam (huge mistake), I am just so overwhelmed I am moving there so soon, it's scary D: I really appreciate you correcting me, wish my fiance was that diligent! I need to learn how you guys actually use phrases and words, any recommendations? Movies? TV shows?
No, pronunciation remains the same. Movies and TV shows: depends on your preferences.
anna3101
I'm pretty sure both forms are possible. Just one thing to add: the "u" version is more formal than the "je" version. Although I prefer to say "bedankt" normally, because "dankjewel"/"dankuwel"/"dank je wel"/"dank u wel" sounds like you bloody depend on it IMO. Dank je wel for me it is Thanks for clarifying that, I was starting to get kind of confused, because I had seen both forms being used, but you never know (now we do )
